Soil Services has provided technical support to Infiltrator Water Technologies since 2012 as a North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services-approved third-party field investigator. They have conducted site investigations on over 50 parcels of land scattered across North Carolina. We have been using Sarah Menser of Soil Services, PLLC for all our development and home building non­geotechnical soils concerns for the past eight years. Most of the homes and communities we develop and build in are located in the Falls Lake and Jordan Lake watershed basins. This requires the design and use of individual septic systems in lieu of municipal sewer. Sarah does all of our development soils mapping and submission, individual septic system design and permitting, hazardous soils analysis, and wetland and buffer determinations and permitting. My wife and I hired Sarah to do some soil mapping on a farm we were interested in purchasing. There was a lot of doubt by realtors that there was going to be any good perc site on the property to install a conventional septic system. Sarah came out and went right to work. While on site, I had a thousand questions for her and she had a thousand answers without hesitation. She definitely knows her trade. Sarah is very determined and spent hours with a hand auger analyzing the 57 acre farm until she found a suitable area. With her report, we were able to get a septic permit in hand prior to closing on the property. A year later, we decided we wanted to locate another perc site on the same property so we could move our parents out to the farm. What were the chances? Sarah accepted the challenge and came out again. After a couple of hours sampling all unsuitable soils, Sarah locked in on an area that showed promise. Once again she delivered and found a second conventional perc site. She did an overall outstanding job for us and we would highly recommend her to anyone in need of a soil scientist.
